Assumption was a Catholic parochial
school founded in 1938 by the Franciscan
Friars and the Franciscan Sisters of
Allegany.  We welcomed students of all
racial, ethnic, and religious backgrounds
into our community of learners.

Assumption School embracing a holistic
and developmental approach to learning,
emphasizing basic skills as the building
blocks of education, coupled with
remediation for struggling learners and
challenging programs for high achievers.

High standards of academic achievement
and moral behavior based on Gospel
values were expected from our students
according to their abilities and learning
styles so that Assumption lived up to its
motto, "A community of faith teaching a
world of knowledge."
